WPX RTTY 2025

S5 RECORD

From the 8th to the 9th of February 2025 we worked the WPX RTTY contest.
At first the goal was 1400 QSO, that would beat the then standing record of 1,541,528 points and 892 QSOs set by S57ZT in 2021 by a long shot.
Then right before the contest we became optimistic and set a record of 1600 QSOs, which we managed to beat by quite a lot. The first day of the contest band conditions were great.
For the first 12h of the contest me and S50NB were alone, but then at about 12 S55O showed up. We were working on 2 stations, so one of us got to rest. A bit later S51MG came, for about 3h and then left.
Me, S50NB and S55O were working together until midnight, when S55O left. The second day was about the same, with the exception of me and S50NB leaving about 3h before the end of the contest, and S55O doing it by himself until the end.
At the end of the contest we were all satisfied with the results, and happily left the club.
Even tho we could have done better, we did the best we could at the time, and therefore were quite happy.
